Milky Way with two planets
This was taken near the Sunrise visitors center at Mount Rainier National Park. This was one of my first attempts at night photography using my new camera Nikon D850 with my Sigma 14mm f/1.8 lens. This shot was wide open at f/1.8 ISO 6400 but relatively short 8s exposure.

Night Shots at Mount Rainier
Another image from the July 2018 trip. This one the clouds are starting to creep in. Wide open at f/1.8 30s ISO was 6400.

Clouds over Mount Rainier
Cloud cover started building from the south obscuring most of the milky way shots so tried this one of the mountain.

Hurricane Ridge Night Shots
The day we had set aside for this trip turned out to be very overcast. We did get some clearing late but didn’t make for the best viewing. Also I didn’t expect the light pollution from Seattle to be as strong as it was.

Hurricane Ridge Night Shots #2

Sleeping Dog
Night shot that I capture while on a photography workshop with Robert Knight. This was taken at Pfeiffer Beach near Big Sur in California. This was taken with an older Nikon 20mm f/2.8 manual lens this was a 25s exposure.

Night at the beach
Another shot from Pfeiffer Beach in California. On this shot I used a 24-85mm lens I borrowed from another photographer.

The moon and the Mountain
A night sky shot with a nearly full moon over Mount Rainier.

Milky Way near Mount Rainier
One of my first attempts at astrophotography. I was using my Nikon D800 and 24-70mm f/2.8 lens. I made numerous rookie mistakes with this attempt but came away with some nice images not portfolio images yet but nice.

Night time on the beach
Cannon Beach Oregon. This was a late night 1am run down to the beach try to catch an image and get back without waking anyone up type of shot. This was a 30s exposure using my 24-70mm f/2.8 ISO 400. I added two stops of light in post processing and leveled the image.
